ICE-Free Ordinance Now
No ICE in Marin
Don’t be fooled.
A policy protects the County. An ordinance protects our neighbors.
The County’s proposal may be a small step in the right direction, but a policy is nowhere near strong enough to protect our community.
What we’ve asked for
An ordinance
A legally binding, enforceable ICE-Free ordinance that bars ICE from using County property, resources, data or personnel for immigration enforcement without a judicial warrant.
Binding & enforceableWhat the County is offering
A policy
An internal policy that applies only to County employees. It has some benefits, such as requiring staff to report contact with ICE, but it is not legally binding or enforceable against ICE.
Not enforceable against ICEWhy Marin needs it
ICE has taken dozens of our immigrant neighbors this year, often on County property and with information and help from the Marin County Sheriff.
California and many nearby communities have passed these laws.

No ICE in Marin
