We are a group of community members – including parents, educators, artists, lawyers and entrepreneurs on traditional Huimen Coast Miwok land – who are actively committed to racial equity and inclusion, beginning with our own Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) leadership.
After being selected by the city of Mill Valley to serve on the Mill Valley Diversity Equity and Inclusion Task Force, and completing our Report and Recommendations, we wanted to continue the work outside the City's structure. We are expanding in order to expedite change and invite everyone who has something to contribute to work with us as we build a broad coalition to promote equity in Mill Valley and our sister city, Marin City, and throughout Marin.
We are committed to educating ourselves, our families, and our community, supporting each other in this work, and amplifying BIPOC voices. We aim to strengthen the connections between Mill Valley and Marin City, but we also hope to expand our efforts in the larger county.
