ICE is continuing to terrorize immigrants and separate families in Marin County with significant cooperation from the Marin County Sheriff and other local officials. For many months, MVFREE and the No ICE in Marin Coalition have pressed the Board of Supervisors to pass an ICE-Free ordinance—as many neighboring jurisdictions have done—to prohibit ICE from using County property, resources, or personnel in its racist mass deportation efforts. The Board has refused even to place the question on its agenda. Meanwhile, the rate of ICE detentions in Marin has doubled in the past year and continues to rise.
