MVFREE and PLAYMARIN Co-sponsor Mill Valley 2024 Juneteenth 3v3 Basketball Tournament

All 3rd through 8th grade basketball players were invited to register for the inaugural 3v3 Basketball Tournament at Mill Valley’s 2024 Juneteenth celebration. Coach Steve Johnson led everyone in warm up drills, team assignments, play practices, and playoff/championship games. Many people helped out – there were assistant coaches on the court, parents and siblings in the stands, water and snack breaks along the way, screaming whistles, screeching shoes, and all the intensity and fun of an active basketball event. Everyone went home with a Juneteenth t-shirt. Sasha Bunge, MVFREE Coordinating Team and Parks and Recreation Team member said, “It was one of the most integrated sports events in Mill Valley that I have been part of since I have lived here.”
