MVFREE Campaign to EliminateStaggering Countywide Police Disparities

On January 15, 2025 MVFREE sent a personalized email to the leaders of every Marin law enforcement agency, every Marin Mayor and City Council member, and every member of the County Board of Supervisors, offering to help identify and implement appropriate RIPA recommended equitable policing strategies.

MVFREE is familiar with the RIPA reports and recommendations. We know that there are many factors that can contribute to racial policing disparities, and we understand the nexus between the specific RIPA recommendations and those causative factors. We have also conducted our own analyses of Marin RIPA data over the years to gain a deeper understanding of the patterns and practices of local law enforcement agencies.

We hope our civic leaders will join us in this collaborative countywide effort to make Marin County a model of safe and equitable policing.
