MVFREE members Nancy Carlston, Eileen Fisher, Gilda Harger, Kyle Hughes, Nancy Jacobs, and Leigh Ann Townsend hosted an event on the Depot Square in Mill Valley on March 20 introducing the Mt. Tam Community Land Trust to the community. Board members Simon Vansintjan and Sean Tai offered ideas and encouragement from Europe.

We had positive responses and input from community members, with about 22 of them signing up to receive more information and one even asking detailed questions about donating land.

A Community Land Trust (CLT) holds land in trust for the community. CLTs are particularly effective in creating affordable/attainable housing that stays affordable in perpetuity. Mt. Tam CLT is a separate non-profit, but grew out of the MVFREE housing group joining with other members of the community.
